Have you ever wondered what it takes on How to instantly be Persistent at what you’re doing to achieve your goals? Why do so many people quit? They quit early. They don’t give their Goals a chance because they stop. They stop doing what they planned to do.

And I know I’ve been on talking about personal development pretty much all the episodes so far of the Health Wealth Wisdom Show. The reason for that is I want to lay a foundation for myself.

I want to document my journey. And I want to teach you what I am learning so that if it makes sense for you and your life, for the tools and the outcomes that you want, then you can apply it.

I am learning from very successful people and people who have done what I want to do, so I’m modeling them.

I select a person I admire, study the methodology behind their success and create a similar path.

So here’s the big question. How do I become persistent in what I’m doing every single day? How do I become Persistent and consistent? How do I not lose hope or lose that drive or motivation?

I’m sure all of you have heard of neurochemicals and chemical reactions in our bodies that produced different states of being. And I want to focus on today is dopamine. So dopamine is our reward chemical that makes you feel happy, gives you energy.

Different things happen with dopamine, and too much of it is a dreadful source. Drug and Cocaine, for example, produces tons of dopamine in our bodies and can become addictive. But dopamine is what keeps us happy, is what drives us, and helps us to move towards what we want.

And I just learned this. I want to apply it. Here is what it is.

If we don’t have a reward system. Then we are missing the boat.

We’re missing out on all of these positive effects of dopamine. Dopamine is what’s going to help us to become consistent and persistent.

So here’s an example.

There’s a lot of very goal-oriented people, but they do not enjoy the process. They only think they’re going to be happy once they get that result. And If they get to that result, they’re very depressed because it’s not as exciting. It’s not as Amazing as they thought it up in their mind to be.

And that’s because they did not have any reward system.

Reward your effort instead of just having a Reward at the result. And I can see how it work. When I’m doing work, it’s hard to keep going. And I have achieved goals by brute force before and just pushing through it and hating it. In the end, when I reach it, I did not feel as happy as I thought.

So, I started to implement a reward system for milestones towards the goal. For example, If you want to earn a million dollars, a milestone is earning one hundred thousand dollars and another one five hundred thousand dollars.

Milestones are important, and you should reward those. But Rewarding the effort process itself is what is going to make me persistent and consistent.

And how do you do this? How do you reward yourself?

These are not external rewards. It’s internal rewards. Now you’re probably asking how does this works? What are you going to do to internally reward yourself for the effort you’re putting forth to move towards your goal?

When I take the right action, what I’m going to do is feel one of two emotions or both. So what I’m going to do is I am going to talk to myself about how grateful I am that I took this action and how grateful I am that I am moving towards the result I want.

Being grateful is the important thing, grateful for moving in the right direction, and Grateful for the effort you put forth.

Gratitude is something that releases dopamine in our bodies. It gives us more energy to keep moving forward.

The second thing that I’m going to do is I’m going to feel an emotion of pride.

I’m going to be proud that I am moving in the right direction and putting forth the effort. And whenever somebody is proud of you or whenever you’re proud of yourself, what it does is releases a bunch of dopamine in your brain and your body. And it gives you more energy to keep moving, to keep going, to be persistent, and to be consistent.

So that’s the big secret. That is what I’m going to do. That’s what I’m going to apply in my life. I’m going to feel gratitude for the effort, for the action. And I’m going to feel proud of myself.

The only way to get the results is to move in the direction of our goals.

Never quit is the key.

And to do this, you need to reward yourself internally by gratitude for the effort and being proud of the effort you are putting forth. So that’s what I’m going to do. That’s what I’m going to apply right now to achieve my goals of Health, Wealth, and Wisdom in the specific goals that I had in those three categories of my life.
